Winter Chill? Not At These 5 Destinations
+ Grab your popcorn because this Netflix docuseries is going to be good.
ON THE TEE
🏌️ Collin Morikawa coughed up a six-stroke lead on Sunday at the Sentry Tournament of Champions. It’s true that winner Jon Rahm shot 10-under 63 but Morikawa had some pretty simple shots down the stretch that he made a mess of. Anyone concerned about Morikawa?
🏌️ Is Rahm the real No. 1 player in the world like he thinks he is? Three tournament wins in five starts and he’s still No. 5 on the Official World Golf Ranking? Isn’t the system completely broken?
🏌️ The PGA Tour granted what it called “a few” conflicting event releases for members to play in the Saudi International, an event sponsored by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, which also funds LIV Golf. Any hypocrisy here?
🏌️ Lydia Ko is confirmed to compete in the Aramco Saudi Ladies International, which has a $5 million purse, higher than any LPGA Tour event outside the women’s majors. This is not a bad thing, is it?
🏌️ Keegan Bradley is 30 pounds lighter in five months on a mostly meat diet. Did he look like he needed to lose 30 pounds?
🏌️ The Netflix docuseries on the world of professional golf has a name (“Full Swing”) a release date (Feb. 15) and surprise participation by Rory McIlroy. If you think about what McIlroy has been up to in the past year, it’s not really a surprise, is it?
🏌️ Adam Scott seems to have found a kindred spirit in his friend, 50-year-old surfing world champion Kelly Slater. When the pair visited in Hawaii, Slater told Scott, “Just let go a little bit.” Isn’t that good advice on many levels?
🏌️ Kenny Perry has stepped away from golf to care for his wife, Sandy, who has Alzheimer’s. They’ve been married 40 years. Thoughts and prayers, please.
🏌️ The daylight hours are gradually getting longer. You can make an afternoon starting time and be done by dark. But you still have to play fast, don’t you?

📖 The Dave Bautista method
After hanging up his wrestling tights, Dave Bautista could’ve made an easy living cranking out one brainless, explosion-happy blockbuster after another. Instead, he’s improbably emerged as a serious thespian trapped in an action hero’s body, and the who’s-who of Hollywood auteurs — from Glass Onion's Rian Johnson to Dune's Denis Villeneuve — keep lining up to work with him

HOME FRONT
Clear Creek Tahoe | Carson City, Nevada
Listing: 273 Swifts Station Drive
Stats: 6,724 square feet | 4 bedrooms | 4 bathrooms.
Price: $12,950,000.
About: Situated on a spectacular homesite behind the private gates of Clear Creek Tahoe rests this award-winning estate property, built by Mark Neave of NSM Construction. Offering 270-degree views of Nevada’s Carson Valley and surrounding mountain ranges, the scenery is endlessly changing. To ensure the home was a sculptural delight, architect Keith Kelly of Kelly & Stone Architects designed sweeping curvilinear metal roof forms that rise and fall in unison to mimic the rise and fall of the mountains framed to the south and west. Cedar sliding and basalt stone masonry were then used to give the exteriors a decidedly fresh, modern look. The home boasts an open-concept, free-flowing form throughout, complete with walls of glass that offer stunning views in all directions. The Coore & Crenshaw-designed Clear Creek Tahoe course is ranked as the No. 1 private course in the state.
