A rip-off? who is to say. I will certainly not pay it. The Ryder Cup is the worst golf event to attend because of so few matches and so many people. I went to Medinah and we spent most of our time watching on the jumbo tron. Best place to watch is on TV. Maybe the prices will thin the crowd and make it a better in person viewing experience.

Wow public parking 12 miles away.

Iā€™m sure cops will be everywhere around the entrance to the facility.

I hope Scottie hires a driver !!!! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Iā€™m in the UK, have been to two Ryder Cups, 2012 and 2018 and will fly out to NY for the Ryder Cup. But when Iā€™m there Iā€™ll watch it in a bar. It is a terrible event to watch but you go for the craiic, but not at these prices. Iā€™m really not sure it will sell out, Iā€™m a guy in finance and wonā€™t pay for this, itā€™s just too much.

...and I'd say you are right on the money about LIV. We could argue about the players (although I agree with you), but what really doesn't move the needle is the format. We like actual competition and stories with our sports entertainment - lives changed, that sort of thing. What's the great story coming out of LIV (go on, I'm listening...)? So, PGA is slow playing it very obviously for the reasons you stated.

Gary, your dismissive comments about LIV are either knee jerk or lazy. Either way, theyā€™re patently misleading.

I won't go into all of the reasons why, other than to say that proven sports executives wouldnā€™t be joining LIV to manage teams or join the C-Suite if it wasnā€™t a viable organization, not to mention numerous companies who are now sponsors.

Itā€™s a global tour, attracting a much younger demographic and is focused on bringing the game into the fastest growing regions of the world.

Youā€™re right, LIV can continue to operate independently, though not only because of the largess of PIF, but because itā€™s the future of menā€™s professional golf.

Spot on Frank. Gary writes some really interesting and useful analitical/factual articles, which I like. But on this subject, LIV v PGA Tour, he is off base.

Nobody cares about LIV, Buddy. NOBODY.

I see you are writing articles on Mental Ilness and Addiction -- you should do well working on these subjects.

I probably will. I see you are not writing one on spelling. Nor having enough money to acquire a phone or device with auto correct. Destitute and stupid is no way to go through life, son.
