Welcome to The First Call’s debut Playlist.
There’s no denying that music and golf have long ties to one another. Heck, just go back to the late 1930s when crooner Bing Crosby formed his legendary Crosby Clambake.
These days, players are on the range with earbuds or on the course with portable speakers in their carts.
So we’re here to embrace. Over time we will debut curated playlists that have a particular theme tied in some way to golf.
Let us know what you think and we hope you enjoy.
BOSTON BOUND
We debut The Playlist with the “Brookline” playlist, nine songs from artists / groups with ties to Boston, which has a rich history with golf.
Go back to 1913 when unknown amateur Francis Ouimet walked across the street from his home in Brookline and won the U.S. Open at The Country Club.
The nation’s oldest golf-oriented country club has hosted 13 USGA championships, including this year’s U.S. Open, and the epic 1999 Ryder Cup.
There’s been plenty of music emanating from Boston, but this gets us started.
